What a night Kansas City had on May 28th! ExtremeLANKC hosted Midwest LAN War Spring Event 2011 at Finnigans in North Kansas City and we had quite a turn out. Elite KC Gamers hosted the Console Gaming and ELKC hosted the PC Gaming on this night. The night was totally possible thanks to Dark Artz Entertainment who was our Event Sponsor for this event! They were there with all sorts of promotional giveaways for their new video game coming out this fall called Revelations 2012! Area gamers came from all parts of Kansas and Missouri, we even had Simply Fail, a team that came all the way from Colorado! Thanks to all of our gaming community for making the night a success!
Pictures are coming out as we speak and if you want to get a peek at what is on Facebook you can go visit Dark Artz Entertainments Facebook page as they were posting pictures during the entire event! Tournament results will be forthcoming as well as we get everything together. What was great was the activities that Dark Artz had people doing to earn all sorts of prizes that they were giving away. Yours truly even got in on the fun and did the little tea pot song just to have a little fun for a free tshirt lol! Thanks Kristy and Tim from Dark Artz Entertainment for everything that you did not only for MLW 2011 but for all the fun that our participants had participating in your activities!
We had a lot of tournaments lined up for the night and people were registering for these tournaments as all the cash tournaments had prize pots that were bumped up thanks to Dark Artz and Disciples of Gaming. We dropped in $1,000 split up among all 6 cash tournaments that we had on the lineup for this event. Not to mention the Tournament Fee's that participants paid to play in the tournaments. We end up with some pretty healthy payouts for the tournaments! Seemed like there was plenty of competition on the console side as there was plenty of teams lined up to play. On the PC side we had a good draw but we really could have used more teams. Lots of Open Gaming going on at the event and that is good since thats what LAN partys are all about. Good times just playing games and meeting other gamers. We did have all our tournaments on the PC side and the prize pots were also bumped up thanks to our sponsors!
I hope to see everyone posting on our forums about the event and of course tell your friends about our next event which we plan on having on August 27th for our Midwest LAN War 2011 Summer Event!
